Just discovered this drop dead gorgeous and scary as hell comic. Amazing work!! As a native New Hampshirite I’m especially pleased and equally terrified; I always wanted to believe upper New England was somehow untouchable by horrors like this. I love how the dead are color coded red and how that’s used to show encroaching danger. Super effective, super creepy. Looking forward to more!

Ahh! Thank you! I’m super happy to find out another hobbit is enjoying my comic. NH isn’t the subject of many stories and I really wanted something that gave me reason to think about my home state from a new angle. It’s made me appreciate my background way more. Also very happy you’re noticing the color symbolism.

“Hobbit” hahaha yes! And you’ve definitely made an impact in terms of looking at the state from a new angle – like I said, I always perceived the place as somehow untouchable, so in times of disaster I always imagined escaping to the White Mountains. I’ve never fantasized about a zombie epidemic though, so I now I’m forced to see that nothing is sacred when that plague hits. Ahh! Speaking of, I also enjoy how you’ve written this epidemic to affect animals as well. I’m used to seeing this genre as a people disaster only, but these guys go after anything that moves and I think that adds a great touch of realism.

Granted I imagine MOST the zombie hoards would linger in any city areas, but you have these free roaming pack-mentality creatures who are gonna need food and so wander into the woods occasionally (humans are not food, except on accident. They are hosts primarily. Just early-stage zombies can be overenthusiastic). And of course, why would I turn away the opportunity to draw disintegrating moose and bear?
It will get more exciting of course when we get to the more mutated examples.
